Glass

I found Janet Fish, subject of her paintings are similar to mine, both of us I chose glasses to paint. Her paintings attract me because her paintings are cool to look, different style as others like abstract painting. Look back to my painting, I used different style to paint those glasses, more focused on reflection to make the painting looks more real, I like.

New York ---Edward Hopper's style

I choose the picture I took in New York, because it relates to Edward Hopper's most paintings about New York. When I drew this painting, it took a while and worked on it so hard, but after I finished the painting I like it a lot although I simplified it.

The Kiss

I choose the artist Gustav Klimt's painting The Kiss for my word list Valentine's Day. The reason is I think the painting used special way to show the love between valentines, and also his gilded style attract me. He used oil paint with applied layers of gold leaf, it made his painting look much different as others.

Palette knife painting

Here is my bags painting, I used palette knife to do the painting. It was a difference experience to draw with palette knife, it was special and the painting looks cool!

Fairfield Porter's painting

I like this painting from Fairfield Porter, because he didn't draw too much details, not like other artists focus on character's emotions, clothes and actions. He used really simple way to show what he was thinking. All figures without face emotion, but audiences still can feel and understand what he was drawing and what kind of message he wanted to pass. We can see there is a tennis double match, and one boy serves, two boys whose backs face us are nervous from their poses. Fairfield Porter's painting is special and interesting.
